Kwong Siu-hing

Kwong Siu Hing (born 1929 in Huadu, Guangzhou, Guangdong), is the matriarch of the Kwok family, ranked third richest in Hong Kong.〔(Thomas Kwok – Forbes ), Forbes.com. Retrieved 6 June 2011.〕 She controls Sun Hung Kai Properties, the largest property developer in Hong Kong. She is the wife of the late Kwok Tak-Seng, the founder of the company, and the mother of Walter, Thomas and Raymond. On 27 May 2008, Kwong replaced her son Walter when he was ousted as chairman of the company,〔(Sun Hung Kai Properties – CHANGES TO THE BOARD )〕 and stepped down from the position in late 2011.〔(Sun Hung Kai Profit Jumps; Chairwoman to Retire ) ''Wall Street Journal'', by Polly Lui. 16 September 2011.〕
Kwong effectively controls about 41.53% of SHK Properties' shares through a trust fund, so she is the largest shareholder of the company.〔(Hong Kong's Sun Hung Kai Props appoints Kwong Siu-hing as new chairwoman )〕
